Originally designed around the Getting Things Done methodology, and now on its third major version, OmniFocus has grown to be one of the most feature-rich task managers on any platform – far surpassing the common, but inadequate title of a to-do list.Īs an OmniFocus fan for nearly a decade I can sympathize with the strong opinions that grow out of being a heavy user of something. Perhaps Omni's most popular product is OmniFocus – a rich suite of task manager applications for macOS, iOS, iPadOS and web. It's the classic "Adobe" issue: Never remove, only add. This means any significant changes that Omni makes risk alienating those users – who trust and demand the most from these tools. And when you consider that many of their products are pro-grade, best-of-class examples in each of their categories, you end up with not just passionate users, but demanding ones. Omni's focus on products and platforms for which they clearly have a passion in turn engenders a lot of the same passion and love from their userbase. This guide is equally useful in later versions of OmniFocus for Mac.There are few developers that have as rich of a history as The Omni Group with a product line that can trace its roots back to the earliest days of Mac OS X, Rhapsody, and even NeXTSTEP. OmniFocus for Mac Keyboard Shortcuts - To maximize your efficiency, it’s worth spending some time getting to know OmniFocus’ keyboard shortcuts. Omni Group Forums - The Omni Group hosts active user forums for troubleshooting issues and sharing suggestions, with a section dedicated to OmniFocus. Among other things, this can be a great place to get advice on OmniFocus setups and workflows. Visit the Omni Group’s Manuals page to access the latest version of the manuals for all of Omni’s apps. OmniFocus Manuals - Omni provides excellent manuals for OmniFocus and its other apps. OmniFocus Videos - Omni has a large and growing collection of videos that cover features of Mac and iOS versions of OmniFocus, stories of OmniFocus in the Field and recordings of talks from past events. And the Tools & Services area shows how OmniFocus pairs well with other services and tools. The Working With OmniFocus section documents a wide range of OmniFocus workflows. Inside OmniFocus - This website showcases OmniFocus-related workflows and tools and is a natural complement to Learn OmniFocus. Similarly, the OmniFocus for iOS (that supports iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch) is available through the iOS App Store. OmniFocus Apps - Download OmniFocus for Mac from Omni’s website or the Mac App Store and put the Standard and Pro features through their paces.
